WikiLeaks : Facebook the most appalling spying machine

I know a few people who refuse to be on FB or any other social network because of identity theft etc.

I'm not on facebook (well, have a fake account that I never use really), not really because of paranoia or anything, just hate the idea of people always knowing where I am and what I'm doing, would drive me nuts.

You dont have to be using fb to use it. I mainly log on to check others' info and status. Havent added my daily doings in 2 years other than loading the odd scenic pic and sharing links. Obviously this kind of info is enough to be profiled, but its not much different from any other data centre that you're forced to submit to.

Nowadays its hard to hide completely. Just ask Google and Apple.
 
I have fb, incredibly useful tool for me. I use it to keep track of my social responsibilities :D I would never discuss something sensitive on it..

Well who you believe is entirely your choice. Religious folk cannot prove the existence of their GOD yet you question it and don't believe. Blindly believing something because someone said so is all good and well i guess. Each to their own.

For people living in a deluded reality, facts and reality are optional. You gotta know, to get themselves into that line of thinking they have to have abandoned all reason. This is incredibly telling of the type of psychology that person has. Do you really think you can have a rational conversation with someone that broken?

It amazes me how people will make up and believe fantastical stories over the boring facts. If you wanna do a comparison then there it is. Both religious people and conspiracy nuts create their realities. They will prefer a fantastical untruth to a boring truth. Its the nature of the common. You are creating the "belief" and turning this into an almost religious experience. Your reality is belief based rather than evidence based.

As long as you believe everything you get fed by the media then you should not need rational conversations as you have all the hard facts on what happened, even if they change daily that does not matter :D.

Whatever killa. My personal opinion is you gotta be really psychology broken to get to the mental state to ignore all evidence and create your own stories. I dont care what your beliefs are, and I certainly couldnt be bothered to debate about such a mad man or childs perspective. Its like someone being really adamant that Elvis and JFK are still alive and a gay couple living in Cape Town... Its not worth the energy to try help someone who doesnt want to be helped. Make up whatever stories you want to believe. You keep pretending. I really dont care.

I don't need help bud, i look at everything and question it. I don't blindly believe people who have a bad track record. Well for the followers i am sure they have a good track record as they can do no wrong.

If you believe then that is fine. It's not like the US has never done anything dodgy or lied before, so naturally you must believe everything they tell you. Fairly simple and perhaps you are the sane one for believing them considering their track record i can totally understand why you trust them.

It was simple questions to show that your questions can be used either way.

But it is always interesting to see the assumptions people make about posts that do not agree with their point of view, even if those posts do not really make any statements or take any sides. So while you may think you know where I am going with it, the assumption is your own :)

No you dont. You dont question. You made up a fantasy story with 0 evidence. You chose the story that best suites your perspective of America, not the one that follows the evidence.

Im just able to see the bigger picture and the consequences of what would happen if they are caught lying. Your entire argument and belief is based on the ad hominen logical fallacy. You are telling us that because someone from America is saying it, ergo what they are saying is wrong. Thats a flat out logical fallacy.
