Will a 400W PSU be enough for my SLi setup?

I want to buy another 7900GS soon to give me the following system
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1gb ram
3 HDDs
1 Optical
2X 7900GS

uM, I'm Not sure it will, MAYbe a 550w or a 600w, but never a 400w. Hell, My X1600xt needs a 400w Just to run normally on my system and it's about the same as yours. (only slower gfx card and i got a 3200+ @ 2.6ghz)
Um, honestly though, you gonna find a bottle neck with the cpu as i think the combined power maybe asking more then the cpu can give and that means performance will be limited.

Try before you buy. But I would look at the 7900GS recomendations.

I ran two 7800GTX's on a 450W Psu without any problems.

Think 400W might not be enough ,but I guess you can always try and see if you can get away with it.

Well the 7900's use much less power than the 7800's so I presume it would be OK then.

If it's a quality PSU like Antec or Coolermaster I would say yea 400W would be OK. If it's one of those featherweight no name stock chinese brands that normally come with the tower then get an upgrade to something better before you run two of those babies in tandem.
Check the rails to see what the combined wattage is on the +3.3 and +5V lines.
