more than likely in my opinion ...... had similar setup operating on a 350W last year :D

im currently looking at a price tag of +-R5000 for that setup, you guys reckon its a good deal?

can get the same system (apart from that mobo for 3.3k at zones)

have heard they do ship ....... maybe phone and find out what it might cost ..... might still be less than your quote :D

Yes that is my machine exactly - well with a q6600 in it - on a 460w gbyte - no problems.

J

also ......... try with all your might to replace that 8600GT with something else .... unless you aren't a huge gamer.

this isnt going to be my gaming PC :) this is for CAD (Computer Aided Design) my gaming PC speccs are below :)

Not really. What will the PC be used for?

Whipped up a quick quote for about R5000:

CPU: Intel Core2 Duo E4600
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 250GB 16MB cache
GPU: Sapphire HD3650
RAM: 2 x 2GB Transcend JetRam DDR2-800
Optical: LG 20x Lightscribe
PSU: Gigabyte 460watt.

/me would rather go with PostmanPot's system ...... especially for CAD (you be nuts to use an 8600 for CAD bru )

and the difference between the 8600 and the 3650? tbh the 8600 is a decent card and should handle low level CAD quite well shouldnt it? Its not going to be anything bigger than houses... bigger developments will be done at work
