Will I get used to it?

I had lasik surgery and now my eyes are slighly damaged. They are much better than they were before the surgery, but I still need contacts and now they haev to be hard contacts to counteract the surface damage. But I also think staring at a PC all day doesnt help

Were the glasses for astigmatism by any chance?

Then it does take quite some getting used to as the shapes of things have changed. I wouldn't recommend driving with them right away.

Depending on how bad your eyes were, it will be disorientating at first but you will get used to it quite quickly. I enjoyed looking around seeing things "for the first time" :)

Right eye lens is shaped like a rugby ball and still got soft lenses. Maybe ask them again?

I've been to several ophthalmologists and optometrists over the last few years. I had glasses for about three years and just eventually realised that they aren't doing what they are supposed to. I eventually met Murray Reyburn at Saks, Taylor and Brauer in Pretoria and he really put a lot of time and effort into helping me. I think I spent about 14 hours with him in a four week period and we eventually found a prescription that works for me. And it works exceedingly well. I can easily recommend him to anyone.

Make time, you will regret if you don't!

This was just before I emigrated, so I simply didn't have time. I will try out the contact lenses for a few years and then consider my options. For now I am very happy with the lenses.

Yes it is. Apparently my left eye is shaped weirdly...

I'll take it slowly. If you see someone driving slowly in the left lane of the highway today, that's me! All jokes aside, I am planning on taking it very slowly to properly get used to them. Drive around the neighbourhood tomorrow and see what everything actually looks like.
