It would be nice then we could see what our on-net speed's are like...

I mean SAIX added one in Cape Town... Come on IS

Mod a poll would be nice to see who would like IS to add a server

speedtest.net is overrated and too synthetic. Rather download a big HTTP/FTP/NZB file or use the 'ping' command line utility for accurate results.

Written genuine & good replied by you thanks.I am happy for your good suggestion
If not you need Online Reputation Management...Studies have shown that more than 70% of people tend to research companies or people online before entering into a business transaction with them.

Agreed. Nothing beats an FTP upload/download test.

If you want to test your line speed, dial up with username: guest@telkomadsl, password: guest. Then log into ftp://196.43.1.13/ (ftp://ftp-test.telkomadsl.co.za/) with an ftp client such as FileZilla, and download the OpenSolaris ISO to test your download speed. To test your upload speed, just upload something into the 'incoming' folder. Best of all you're using Telkom's guest account so you won't have to worry about eating through your cap on a speedtest service.
Of course this would only be testing SAIX performance, or the achievable speed of your line, but it's still a more reliable method than using speedtest.net
