Will my pc handle this display card?

N460GTX-M2D768D5 - MSI NVidia N460GTX 768MB GDDR5 R2199

N460GTX CYCLONE 1GD5-OC - MSI N460GTX CYCLONE 1GB DDR5 - OC R2799

just some food for thought :)

Normal Odin PSUs are total rubbish - GT Odins are decent though. I had a 585w Odin go on me with just a gtx260. Not to mention the total lack of connectors.

That is bad news for me. Have one of those running my 5850, have been draggin my feet over the coolermaster 850watt. Should I be looking into this with a bit more urgency?

PS: the 5850 is definitely worth its weight in gold

You you plan on xfire? 850w is a little overkill for most systems but should last for quite a while.
I'd go with the Corsair HX650w, but that's just me.

EDIT: I suppose, don't try fix whats not broken... Yet if it goes (not saying it will) but could take mobo, GPU and CPU down in the worst case. There's always mixed emotions when it comes to PSU's from people. Good and bad experiences from all sides.
Think Archer said it once. PSU is like your cars tires. Sure any old brand will work and even retreads but when things go wrong, they can go horribly wrong. Yet some people will swear by them as nothing has ever gone bad for them with brand-x. It just depends.

If it's ok don't change it - but I definitely won't recommend getting one.

I already paid prophecy so unfortunately I can't take you up on your offer but I might be interested for future.

Is your PSU giving you any problems? If the answer is no, why would you want to change it?

Kinda the same issue with stevovo but it is regarding running an extra card physx. Still have my old 9800GT looking real bored but have nowhere I can apply it. Even took out my 8600 from media centre pc coz that was overkill.

- there is not enough power to run the second card
- only a single 6pin connector

Its between the Coolermaster and Cosair 850W for me ATM so I do not have to worry about power supplies for another 5 years. Have had the Odin 585 for 2 years, it will find a new home in a new build.

well for what its im running a GTX275 quite perfectly on a 500Watt powersupply, I know its not the same as SLI/crossfire but im actually impressed that a 500watt can run such a card.

Got my gtx460 yesterday and installed it. Runs like a beast! But theres a small glitch I noticed last night while playing borderlands:

Wherever there is supposed to be water like a small puddle or whatever it only shows it when I look at it from a specific angle. If I move the mouse up / down then it comes and goes...

However it only does this when I set the resolution to 1280x1024. The moment I switch it back to 1024x768 the problem goes away and vice versa.

Could it be a bug with the display drivers? I have the latest. Anyone else had problems like that with borderlands & nvidia?

:wtf: Run it at a higher rez, lol ..... a gtx460 and you're playing with those low crappy resolutions? hao, heresy!

lol, my lcd is 17" it only goes to 1280x1024 :( and now because of this glitch I can't even play it at that resolution

yoh yoh yoh, I think it may be resolution related ...... but more than likely it's a game bug. Have you patched the game or searched for the prob on their forums?

I have the steam version so I think it should automatically be the latest version, I'll double check tonight.

I did try searching on google but all I could find was some other glitch that showed both the floor and walls as a solid grey and that doesn't apply to me.

I think I'll try another game and see if the water also does the same thing. If it doesn't will that mean that the problem is definately related to borderlands?

More than likely yeah ....... it's if it happens in another game that the odd issue starts though.

Ahaaa! I found something here.

Looks like I'm not the only one experiencing these exact issues. So it looks like it's a bug in the game.

Lol, I'm actually glad. I thought it had something to do with my card...
