Will Telkom become Chinese?

Telkom's service and productivity might then improve exponentially if the current former political prisoners running Telkom are exchanged for Chinese political prisoners :eek:
 
Telkom sure as hell can't get any worse, so the Chinese can have the bloody thing. Maybe they will ban dial-up and install 10mbps lines.

This might just be an attempt to prop up the share price though.

yeah, seeing as 100mbps is the average speed in China, and they actually care bout their customers...Well, possibly not as bad as here
 
I honestly think that a Chinese company might be just what we need.

hopefully if telkom 'becomes chinese' the chinese will compare our crap broadband speeds to theirs, feel sorry for us and give us 100mb lines in no time :D

Personally I don't. Have a look at China's internet policy.

While some might say that their censorship policies are based on their law, take a look at what's been happening in SA's political front lately - Manto, Selebi, Vusi? And now with China's sudden interest in SA (first Standard Bank, now this) - all a bit too coincidental for me. Let's hope I'm wrong though.

they cant block youtube like they do there, its not their country, just owns the company

Hmmm we already have the Dementia of Communistications ruled by Stalin-Mafole & Poison Ivy...so Telkodemonopolies could DodoBroadband down from 1GB to 512MB to increase its current level of active censorship of South Afrian citizens attempting to use the internet...

Yet another reason why we need many more competitors than the single NeeTel vapourware company to provide uncensorsed internet access.

As for banning dial up --- I seriously DOUBT it.

Or they might just see SA and Africa as the place to dump their old equipment.
 
China abuses human rights and exploits its people... it would fit perfectly into the Telkom mentality.
