dont forget the R115 for the telephone line. Oh wait, that might increase again this year to R130!!!

348 kb ADSL monthly line fee @ R49 would not be impossible.

Telkom has competition at fast internet entry level (iBurst).

But at 7c (and less) per MB Telkom is not experiencing any pressure on data rates.

Especially given that Neotel proved to be worse than a damp squib

He's referring to the line rental being as low as R49. You can already almost get a GB for R49, so it's obviously not the bandwidth cost.

This would be great, but Telkom already aren't going any lower this year, so I doubt it.

You'd want to use a wireless service for mobility or backup. Pretty obvious that this shouldn't be used with ADSL, but if they made entry level ADSL as cheap as some of the wireless providers it would be great.
