Will this system work?

Hello,

Main use of this system will be for office related stuff - MS Office, several databases, permanent connection to Internet, etc. - all lasting approx. 12 hours per day.

Some minor usage will include 3-5 hours per week of Photoshop and similar programs (basic workflow of files of up to 12 MB in size) as well as watching 1-2 DVD movies per week.

I do not know much about hardware and will truly appreciate if you could comment if all mentioned is compactable and if I am missing something on this list. (I know that DVD reader/writer, keyboard+mouse & monitor are missing.)

Question: Will I be able to attach two LCD monitors to this card?
If not, please advise which card (of similar price and with similar memory) will allow 2 monitors at the same time.

Looks like a good system for office work. For Photoshop though, you might want to get some more RAM... but the problem with that is you'll have to use the 64-bit Vista...or why not use Windows 7 RC 64-bit while it's free? If you still need to buy the Vista DVD it'll save you the extra R1000 or so to use Win 7. Vista runs like a legless dog on 2GB of RAM too...
As for that card, I think it has one DVI and one VGA port so you could theoretically use two monitors, but the one plugged into VGA port won't be the same quality as the DVI...

Well i think your cpu is a bit slow for photoshop and 2gb mem will never cut it, rather 4gb

might be wrong. Rather go for a core2duo than dual core. i had a dual core for about 3 month after switching to core2duo. and wouldn't 1 2gig ram block be cheaper than 2 1gig ram blocks?

I think It would be fine

Add More RAM to it as well 4gigs
and don't get a 9400gt Graphics card rather get an ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB PCI-E DUAL DVI-I / TVO LITE R 639 excl. R 728 incl.

That's 1366 board so yes, you'll need an i7. The Asus P5Q is a decent board... For a quad that is. Which variety of it depends on your budget...

Unless you are heavy into OC'ing and need a gazillion sata & usb ports then just get a Gigabyte G31 board (Max 4GB ram) and spend the money you save on a CPU or GPU.
