Hi,

I want to talk to someone about Vodacom 3G versus IBurst for high speed wireless internet (primarily Skype) in Fourways but the only number I found on Vodacom's internet site gives me zilcho in the way of a human voice (helpdesk on 082 155).

Is there are Vodacom Rep out there who can give me a number that ends up with a real live human being?

Cheers

I called 125Vodacom and got "The number you have called does not exist".

Called Vodacom Fourways Mall, someone answered, then put me on hold. After a couple of minutes it hung up.

It's going to take 2 months for Telkom to get me a land line. I thought IBurst looked good but it seems to be getting slammed in the forums. Is there ANYONE decent in South Africa that will let me phone home. ANYONE!! PLEASE!!!!

South Africans - the friendliest people in the world with the best looking women. But don't ask them for service!

Ok, firstly some advice - I do not recommend asking a Vodashop for advice on whether to get HSDPA or iBurst - I seriously doubt that the Vodashops know what iBurst is yet - I could be wrong though.

Second, check out the coverage maps on both www.vodacom.co.za and www.iburst.co.za for your area.

If you try calling 155 again [using any Vodacom SIM card], select option 3 then option 0 to speak to an operator, and then when prompted press # for a callback - but listen to the info about how the callback service works - it is important. When you get the callback from 155, give the call centre agent your exact address details where you primarily want to use either HSDPA or iBurst, and ask the 155 operator to tell you about coverage for both HSDPA and iBurst in that area, as well as any other questions you want answered.

But, your best source of information - especially for your area, is right here on MyBroadband, so I'm going to put a redirect to this thread in the iBurst forum, and hopefully some iBurst forumites will also chip-in and comment.

@v3g, it looks like Jaco @ Vodashop Fourways might need to receive some miskolle again...
