Win 10 any way to get automatic Adobe Flash Player updates?

Unfortunately I need flash installed, so uninstalling it is not an option.

As it is I periodically get a desktop pop-up from Adobe to update Flash, I click on that which opens the Adobe flash download page, then I have to untick install Mcafee bloatware, save download, open download, install download and then once that is done it opens another "install success" webpage.

I'm assuming there is no way around this, ie a way to get a silent/backround update?

It would seem Adobe has got us with our nuts in a vice and they can use the updates to drive enormous traffic to their website and thereby give a platform for their "Optional offers" add-on space which can be sold to Intel or whoever the highest bidder is, helping to generate more profits for these sonabiatches?

Doesn't Windows update it automatically with its Security Updates?

A Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB4022730) was done yesterday.

Not that I know of, just ran windows update restarted to install the updates and on the next login I got another Flash player new version desktop pop-up, clicking on that opens the browser Adobe DL page..

But I would much prefer get them via Windows update if that is possible.

I ignore those dreaded Adobe update pop-ups and simply run the 'Patch My PC' utility once a week - it scans your system for any software that needs updating - such as Adobe AIR or Flash - and then runs a silent install that EXCLUDES all the McAfee bloatware from the setup procedure.

Only caveat is that some running applications you may have - like Skype, TeamViewer & CCleaner - first have to be closed via Task Manager - End Task - before they can be updated, but as Patch My PC gives you a list of what it needs to update before you commence downloading, it is easy to identify & close them (the utility will also prompt you to close these running apps whilst it is doing updates as well).

Its not Adobe Flash updates, it security fixes for Windows to prevent vulnerabilities in Flash from being exploited on the OS.

Sometimes I feel MS sorry they get crapped on for bad security and when they try to improve they get crapped on for the updates.

There are third party tools that assist with this.

Have you tested your app on Google Chrome? Flash is built into the Chrome browser allowing you to remove Adobe Flash from the system.

That's a handy looking app, I'll check it out, thanks.

So that's probably the only semi automated way around this issue?

This is as I said. Idots are behind Win10. I don't need security updates for the component which is never used. A logic would require to donwload security updates only when user attempts to enable it.

Actually, you do. You may never use it but its on your system so the vulnerabilities are exploitable...

So in summation, Idiots aren't behind Win10. Idiots are those who go on a crusade against Win10 for retarded things....

I tested this out, very cool program, will run this once every 2 weeks or so, even has a built in scheduler to automate that.

It is not a crusade, it is showing pure facts. You can disagree that idiots are behind Windows 10, but calling idiots those who point it out sounds little bit toxic from a bunny. ;)

I decided to take on this, as you made a point.
Vulnerabilities in Flash Player can not be exploitable if module is really disabled as expected. It is either a Flash Player is not completely disabled, as it is used as a backdoor for new generation NSA tools, or it is not really a fix for Flash Player as claimed after all, but a new cracking algorithm constantly running for Microsoft and Microsoft's partners, it will generate Bitcoins if there is no better job to do.

I would hazard a guess most people here would call your hatred for M$ a crusade and your facts are questionable at the best of times

Where did you get this fact from? Info wars?

Even it is true, it doesn't matter what do you think, it is your problem. For others it is important to remind that Windows 10 is contantly trashing user's hard drives. This is a fact. Microsoft explanation is ccompletely not satisfactory. In 2016 millions of Windows 10 machines were busy hacking sha1 algorithm. Once it is done Microsoft needs to update their botnets to be able to perform different jobs.

Any links, there must be reasonably widespread discussion of this issue?

Especially security blogs would have a field day if this was true
