What would you rather have me create a new one hmm?

The thing with Spotify is that 99.99% of the music is stuff you wouldn't otherwise have been exposed to. The entire point is for the curated and personalised playlists. You're missing out like you can't even imagine.

Earth relative to the Milky Way is not as bad as your collection relative to all the music out there that you would enjoy.

I use Spotify here and there. 99.99% is garbage I don't even want to listen too. Tool is not on Spotify, Pink Floyd also anti streaming. Just to give some examples. Spotify is for playing stuff for the sake of it and is in my opinion selective radio. There are way more good music out there which isn't on streaming services. You just need to know how to find it.

This is true, however, I have found that YouTube and spotify, once you listen to a number of stuff becomes really good with recommendations. Spotify also has music that is not to be found anywhere else other than the actual album, Jan Blohm and Nicholis Louw are good examples.

It seems exceptionally unlikely that Spotify doesn't have a huge amount of stuff you'd be mad about. The size of their catalogue of hard to grasp, and they do a substantially better job of making the more obscure stuff accessible.

Spotify's algorithms rely on user behaviour. Eg. what is in your library, what have you listened to, what do you skip a lot, what do you dislike in your personalised Discover Weekly and Release Radar playlists etc?

That said, it took very little time for Spotify to get hyper accurate with my tastes. I've tried all the major music streaming services and I discover more new music in a day with Spotify than a month with Play Music, Apple Music or Deezer.

There is so much music available that I couldn't care less about the few artists who aren't available. That said, it's once in a blue moon that I discover that something or someone isn't listed.

Been using it for a year and it still doesn't nail it... It's funny watching it try though just like youtube recommendations. Listen to a few metal songs here then it blasts you with every thing you don't enjoy about metal.

Let's say for example you enjoy Rock, Metal, Alternative, Electronica, experimental, house, techno, big beat, funk, hip hop, rap, industrial, orchestral and solo piano music. Depending your your mood it simply tries to adjust these genre's or combinations of it depending on how people labeled the song. There's more to music than just that. Good melodies, chord progressions, lyrics and so forth is good regardless of the genre.

As long as I like like the song I listen to it no matter where I got it or what genre it is I'll listen to it.

Perhaps your just not in the mood to discover music, I'm this way, if I actively go to discover new songs I get annoyed very quickly. But if its in the background whilst your doing something else or in movies or whatever then I find much more and seem more eager to actually listen. This song is a good example, I remember skipping it in my playlist in the past, but then I heard it on the series and loved it.

Maybe the true music streaming service is still good ol'e YouTube, like the last 2 posters illustrated so eloquently..

The Internet Explorer .exe on my machine also still works. Doesn't mean I'll be using it.

Yeah but that started out **** and remained ****, Winamp Started out meh and became good at the time and that's it, it remained. I really can't think of any reason to use anything else for offline music, its just unnecessary to over complicate things.

I hate this interface. Why is the volume so low? Why does it not have a EQ? Why does it load the whole song whilst I'm skipping through?

I have been using google play music the last 3 years. Probably last pirated music 3 years ago.
The same with games. Since Steam I have not downloaded 1 game that I do not legally owned.
Now I just wish Netflix SA can bring in new movies faster.
