Wind power helps lower load-shedding

A series of winter storms helped reduce electricity load-shedding over the past week, allowing renewable energy plants at the coast to boost their supply to the national grid, according to an official at South Africa’s state power utility Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd.

So, the solution for when there are no storms is to deploy helicopters to keep the power on

The bigger joke is the Eskom Board Chairman blowing his trumpet about how successful they have been in improving the EAF when EVERYONE knows that the EAF peaks every single year in May or June anyway! What a laugh!
