Good day

Current I have Vista on my Laptop, but I want Window 7, since Vista doesn't allow me to play any games.. So I just want to know if Window 7 installs all the drivers for the laptop like on the PC..

Thanks

well.. There is no specific laptop version that I know of..
I am running Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit on my Asus Laptop.
Maybe post the specs of the laptop?

Edit: maybe you mean manufacturer versions?

Have installed Windows 7 Professional Edition on my Acer Travelmate and HP Pavillion Laptops. Very easy installation. If it needs any drivers, it Win 7 will automatically download them. Also, there is no crap that is bundled in by the manufacturers.

Go for it.

I see.. mm.. Because I was just worried that if I can't install the network drivers, I can't update using the internet :P

Um.. I have 2 unknown devices, but the internet doesn't seem to be able to find out what it is.. Is there any other way?

Windows 7's out-of-the-box driver support seems quite spiffy. I installed it on my HP Pavilion over the weekend & the only two things that didn't work out of the box were the SD card reader and the multimedia remote control.

should work without hitch, drivers are drivers, download em if windows cant find any.

Um.. do I just search for the laptop model and then download it?

Or is there like a program that came with my laptop that i can use to download?

I'm also suitably impressed - not quite as fast as Ubuntu, but very slick. If you right-click the unknown devices in Device Manager, go to Properties and then check under Resources you should be able to get a Device ID you can pop into Google. That's what led me to the two missing drivers I had.

I see.. will try that.. thanks alot ^ ^

You have to options:

Run a windows update, that will often find the drivers for the unknown devices and install them.

Failing that go to the laptop manufactures website, look for the driver download page (usually in the support section), put in the model number of your laptop and download drivers from there.

Windows update helps? Ok.. if google doesn't work, will try that ^ ^

I see.. I guess it will all be the lastest ones.. Thanks hey~
