So Windows 10 is releasing tomorrow.

I suspect this will cause some strain on ISP's networks for a week or so thereafter.

Any ISP's wish confirm they have taken this into account and additional capacity catered for.

The ones likely to battle are MWEB and Afrihost and Crystalweb...

will probably see an IOS update is causing strain for some ISP...

Just to add, for those using data contracts there might be some bill shock on the way.

Am sorry but I cannot see how this can create any "additional impact" seeing that many people myself included max out the line almost always when at home.

Would it not be a case of the majority of people who do not max their lines, their PC's will now start to download masses of data. This might affect your downloads if there is insufficient capacity. Not sure how it all works but we always see issues when Apple releases an OS update, so thinking it might be the same here.

All those poor people with 3G dongles are going to get hit hard with OOB.

Isn't it rolling it out in waves? Cos as I understood not everybody's getting it on the 1st day...

Came here to say this.

Micro$oft will be rolling it out to the Windows Insider guys first. The "reserve download" crowd will get it thereafter. Any ISP using this as an excuse for the next week or so will most likely be lying to you.

Also, supposed to have been downloading in the background already?

If they can put something in place to cache the download locally then I don't think it will be an issue. Exchange congestion is something else that can play a part. Guess we'll see tomorrow.

Its already being rolled out to the insiders as we speak...

I'll wait until the weekend to do it if available to me (Reserved) cos I also read up somewhere the day one patch is another +-1gb:whistle:

This is what I implied...

Interesting. I have 4 PC's on my network with reserved Win10, and haven't noticed any change in daily data usage. Its been pretty average since the Win10 was reserved. If it is working like this, then that's a good way of doing it.
