Vox will be the first to break because that's where our BIGDOWNLOADERS are hanging around atm.
 
Maybe this is a silly question (I know very little about this) but will ISP's be able to cache the update locally on a server and route traffic to that server in order to minimize international traffic? Will M$ allow something like this?

An ISP can cache the content locally, However according to Microsoft it should be cached by them locally on their servers. Generally the problem does not lie with it being International/Local. Generally IPC is the problem where contention comes in, or the ISP will shape the update so that it does not hit their IPC too hard.

isps are limited by ipc, not international transit. Caching locally won't help that.
 
This should be quite interesting.

Windows 10 has the ability to share updates with other PCs on the Internet, similar to the way that Torrents work.

Wonder if this upgrade is going to make use of that mechanism right from the start.

my laptop have gotten the update icon,but not my pc,any idea how to get it there?

i ran windows update on both

If it will work like a bit torrent protocol then I wonder if it will be any good because I've noticed how heavily bit torrent protocols can be individually throttled in South Africa.

Sharing updates over LAN to other Windows 10 PCs is actually more like WSUS on a local server, or running the WSUS Offline Update tool.

Its not torrent traffic.
 
I am sure Mweb will also make provisions for the windows 10 update, by shaping the downloads to death.. problem solved

For most people the download will start at 2AM if their PC is in sleep mode and they haven't configured the default maintenance period to start at some other time.
