Windows 10 Connect App

Cast/Mirror to your Windows 10 PC from a phone/tablet.
Yes.

No.

1. Launch Connect app on miracast-capable PC.
2. Launch Continuum on Win phone/tab, or select Cast on cast-capable devices (phones/tabs)
3. Select target device. Click Connect. Done.

The screenie is on a Surface Pro 4.

You'll see all target devices in Continuum's "connect" screen.

My Nexus 6P doesn't support casting, which is a real bummer, especially for a 'premium' phone.

Yeah is the part that doesn't make sense. I've articles around the net with it working with Android, and you have a flagship.

Paul Thurrott has the same problem with his Nexus:
I had to test this with my wife’s Android phone because Google has removed Miracast streaming from its Nexus devices (and possibly from Android N). That means your only option on incompatible devices is to use Chromecast for casting.

DA-LION, wish I could advise further, but can't.

I quickly tried projecting from the el cheapo Nextbook8 mini tablet. The Connect app on SP4 said the tab was connecting, but it failed to make a connection. The error message on the tab simply said Failed to connect.

Will fiddle again in the next few days. Am out now, on mobile.

Thor187, perhaps you don't realise we are talking about projecting from device to PC WITHOUT using plug-in dongles like Chromecast. Were both very familiar with those, as well as TV, etc, etc.

This is something else entirely.

I want to cast from my laptop to my tablet, and I think it goes more advanced than that by allowing you to extend the screen.
It does indeed. You can extend the tablet display to the PC (not just mirror), so the tablet basically has an extended and enlarged workspace over two displays.
