Hoping to find an answer here, since googling does not help.

When I plug in my portable, windows 10 start creating alphanumeric folders with a sandbox folder inside.
In the past half-hour it has created more than 100 again.

They look like the folders created when you install the visual c++ redistributables etc:

when I open one:

It is bloody irritating.

Almost looks as if it's creating a backup of all the windows updates that was done in the past, or at least some sort of backup of the OS, rather bizarre looking.

Microsoft hiding your 'sexy' folders for you. They got your back bru.

Looks like some virus behaviour.

These random folders, how much space does it account for in total?

Run disk cleanup, there is a "old OS updates" folder that gets cleaned.

Er, no.

Looks like a virus - scan the computer + portable with http://www.superantispyware.com/ and after refresh Windows under settings.

Also no.

As, per my link above, which nobody apparently read, this is a known problem with SCCM.

1. Make sure a domain group policy is not still trying to load the old version of SCCM. If so talk to you administrator about it.
2. Run: C:\Windows\ccmsetup\ccmsetup.exe /uninstall from and elevated cmd prompt.
3. Delete: C:\Windows\ccmsetup\
4. Delete all of the folders with the long names\ sandbox that have been generated.
5. Check to see if the folders come back. If so check to see if c:\windows\ccmsetup is back. If so talk to your administrator
