Hello,

Am I missing something?

I want to create 3 desktops each with their own icons

Can't. Icons are carried across.

As far as I can tell anyway

Dammit, that is what it seems like to me too. It sucks. Essentially making the feature useless to me, unless someone can shed some light on how they use it.

Sounds like Microsoft still has some work to do in this area.

You can use keyboard shortcuts...

Windows Key + Ctrl + D – Create a new virtual desktop and switch to it
Windows Key + Ctrl + F4 – Close the current virtual desktop.
Windows Key + Ctrl + Left / Right – Switch to the virtual desktop on the left or right.

But, there’s no key combination that will move the current window between virtual desktops.

I haven't seen that functionality in Windows 10. Try searching online though - multiple desktops have been around forever and it's possible that third party solutions do support that.

you can,

click on the

and select add desktop,

That's not what he's asking. He wants each desktop to have a unique task bar and/or desktop shortcuts.
