windows 10, how

Sorry to hijack. I've downloaded the 64 bit tool (am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit) but when I try to run the tool, nothing happens. I have also tried right-clicking and selecting "Run as Administrator" but to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

why? that's crazy talk!

Just use the iso or the media creation tool to upgrade and make sure you match your architecture e.g 32x on 32x and 64x on 64x

Most CPUs produced in the last 10 years support 64bit OS and you can update to 64bit... but its a multi step process ...

see here

I havent tried this yet but I book marked this for when I get to a computer with win7 32bit and it has at least 4GB ram.

On my windows tablet which runs win8 not 8.1 i see there is $windows-BT folder and i haven't reserved the cop. Could this be update though i haven't reserved it? I only reserved on other lapto.

Get iso from Microsoft or torrents. Burn to disk. Start setup from windows. It will then upgrade

Hey guys, will a Windows OEM key work with a fresh install USB boot drive?

Which version of Windows is the oem key? Back when upgrading from 7 and 8 was free I did use oem keys to upgrade. I actually need to do it again but not sure since free upgrades aren't free anymore ??

They are. Just say to Microsoft (when downloading) you are a crippled one.

Haha, so do I have to download from that link? Downloaded the latest iso just the other day using media creation tool.

nope, upgrade only possible via the link.
with the iso you will only be able to reload an already upgraded machine (or with a windows 10 key).
i had challenges during the upgrade, ended up having to uninstall all applications from the windows 8.1 machine first (and each retry is a 3GB download)

Ah so win 7/8 must first be installed then uploaded then clean installed.. so much work

works quite well - i was crippled 4 times last week already

was actually able to upgrade a linux iso *cough* cracked version as well.
Got crippled the weekend, worked very well indeed. Loaded an oem win 7, for some reason it activated itself (it usually doesn't) then upgraded then clean installed. Wanted to format properly and load from iso but didn't want to take the risk. Then have to start all over again.
