Windows 10 - "Refresh your PC without removing your documents and files"

OK, so this option doesn't actually do what you think it does.

You are hoping that it will re-install Windows OVER your existing installation and fix any problems you might have with system files.

But what it actually does is create a new Windows Folder, and rename the old one to Windows.old.
It also creates a new Admin Profile and logs into that while leaving your old profile alone.

After this process, none of your previous programs or files will be accessible until you re-install them and copy the documents and files back.

So just be aware that this is NOT actually a quick solution to refresh your PC. It is actually a new Windows installation.
BUT at least it doesn't actually delete any of your old files or completely reformat the PC.

Yeah, I've made that mistake too.

sfc /scannow Use the right tool for the job.
 
Another cheat in Windows 10, it can't be attributed to a bug.
Is any option in Windows which works as expected?
