An OS that you run on a tablet?

Did you leave your brain at the party last night? :D

Microsoft's intention is to make Windows run-able on all platforms. The way to do is not as was attempted by Sinofsky, the way to do it is by a proper multi-tier design which separates the kernel and other services from the UI. If Microsoft achieves this it will allow the same OS on all devices and have an experience best for the device they are using; in which case there wont be a 'desktop', 'tablet' or device specific OS, what there will be is a device friendly UI.

Windows 10 Technical Preview Using Real-Time Keylogger? - If you have installed the Windows 10 Technical Preview, you also gave permission to Microsoft to collect data of your usage and report that back to Microsoft as feedback to improve the product. Closer examination of the code shows that you could be sending data in real time as you type.

So this... is true then or only for preview?

From the Techamok article:

One concern would be whether or not Microsoft can see when you input a password or bank details

That would be the risk you take were you not to heed Microsoft's warning not to use the preview for live usage. The preview is not designed to give you a free version of Windows, it's designed as an aid to debugging a test product.

Just disable the keylogger http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/57339-Guide-Way-to-Disable-Keylogger
after installing windows 10 and before creating ur account pls open cmd.exe

with Shift + F10

use Sc.exe to delete the 2 services
run this:
Code:
sc delete dmwappushsvc
sc delete diagtrack
and deny system accessing the file AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl with cacls

go to the dir
Code:
cd c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Diagnosis\etlogs\autologger
echo "" > AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl
cacls AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl /d SYSTEM
thats all
They don't specifically state you shouldn't use it on a live system. It's best to use it on a live system and not some VM to provide better feedback.

I extend the taskbar and lock it, but upon restart it goes back to a singular apps list where I have to scroll. Anyone?

Submitted on Windows Feedback.

Awesome. Hope they can find the issue. I tried to replicate the issue now on my side, and I can't. It correctly stays locked on a single row with the two scroll buttons... even after a restart.

How does Win10 feel speed wise compared to Win8 & Win7? I have not installed 10 yet but to me Win7 definitely feels more responsive than Win8.

Ok I have this installed and it's definitely snappier than 7 & 8.

Have not played around much with it yet but it looks promising from the few minutes I spent with it.

Apparently a million Insider users already, according to a post by Joe Belfiore. 64% on physical machines, the rest in VMs.

^^ Metro interface.

Yup, and no Shut Down button to be found anywhere. :p

I really couldn't figure out where to find the Shut Down button, so it forced me to start using my physical Power button.

Guys I don't know if it is just my PC or it is a "glitch" in Windows 10 Technical Preview.

So I am getting tired of using the start menu, I went and changed my setting so that I can use metro (Windows 8 Style UI) rather than the start menu. I have to be logged out and logged back in for this...fine.

Now when I access my metro UI, I see all the icons I placed on my start menu have been wiped. I thought these would carry over to the metro UI.

Also, I remember in Windows 8.1, if I press the start button + S, I get the Search sidebar thing that I can use to search for apps and all. When I use this, it doesn't show this - takes me to metro.

Anyone have an idea how long it takes for a fresh install?
Took over 3 hours to upgrade for whatever reason but I did have a **** load of apps installed.

Hmm, odd. My upgrade went in 15 minutes. Have 500GB HDD, and programs prolly account for 150GB.

Fresh install should be around that time. 15 mins.
