WPCentral says Media Player in the latest build now supports MKV files. The codec is there. Just click Play Anyway. My Win10 rig is in the office, so haven't tried.

I cannot get Win10 to play my mkv files. It seems to be a myth.

I'll only try tomorrow at the office. Maybe set WMP as the default MKV player and when it complains, say Play/Open Anyway.

Worked for me, it did complain about the file type not being supported but played it anyway.

Think they are still working on properly supporting it.

I am still on build 9841, even after downloading updates. That article mentions build 9860 though.

Yes, I see that it is only available in the preview build, which need to selected through PC settings and then under Update and recovery. Will check it out.

I have no sound haha, only noticed now. Drivers/settings all look correct but no sound. Now that ive noticed it, im missing it dearly.

I am/was dualbooting ubuntu 14.04 with Windows 10. Upgraded Ubuntu to 14.10 on the weekend, and now my windows partition seems to be fubar. Not that I really care. Hardly use it these days....

Uninstall and delete Audio Drivers, reboot, problem fixed.

All the white themes and all capital letter menus shouting at you? You cannot rearrange/resize the right taskbar/calendar/to do bar, no calendar notifications if it's more than a week......it's bloody terrible.
