Windows 10 Technical Preview - Insider Program

Wait, It will come to you.

Everything just works on my install. I installed Office 2007 SP3, Citrix for work, printer drivers. All just works. Moving, copying, no problems.

Worth a watch to get the main messaging.

Looks like windows is slowly catching up to linux :p

Central software repository/store, check!
Workspaces (virtual desktops), check!
Window snapping to borders, check!
Decent task switcher, check!
Decent shell, check!

We've been having it :D

I'll download it sometime and give it a spin.

 makes me think of the Apple vs Android war :D

Window snapping has been around for a long time hasnt it? :/

Dunno how long but it's been a long time supported by various window managers. Same goes for the rest of the stuff.

I"m sure its been standard in windows since about vista or windows 7

Right click the task bar and go to the start menu tab. See if the check box next to "Use the start menu instead of the Start screen" is checked.

Other than that I have no idea what could have happened

Spot on, thanks!!

Wow multiple desktops. The first thing I thought was for multi monitor setups, each monitor having its own independent desktop. Looks like I can update my windows 7 pc next year

Here's the video from the San Francisco event yesterday. This was a tiny closed event to about 50 selected journalists, but the first ever public demo of Win10. Worth a watch to get the main messaging.

I've been watching this. Downloaded the preview, busy backing up my pc.

One thing I noticed so far, nevermind the features, is just the way they present them. They not trying to pretend like they invented something which has been around in other OS's for a while already. I respect that.

I like the start menu, and I like the snapping and multiple desktops. Really looking forward to playing with this...

Only had one BSOD and it happened during software updates. Wow IE on here is blazingly quick. IE11 fast wow the shock of it

Been testing with HyperV. It's nice (start menu / multiple desktops etc)... but i'm not sure what i'm going to test? I can do with it what I can do with windows 8. Will wait to see what lower level things they have included...
