I have coded ... , and have been responsible for the odd foobar ... , you of the opinion that we must just sit back and accept Microsoft's bugger ups as "normal". And if you are insinuating that bugger ups of this magnitude are excusable, go for. I am not buying.

Back to the point morons fiddle with settings they don't understand and they lose data, but it's not the snowflakes fault that data has been lost, no its the big bad operating system and all of its stupid updates.

So it's the user's fault they "fiddled with the settings" when they installed that update that deleted everything? Well done mate, you are a prime example of the intellectual ability Win10 was designed for.

Yes, with a company, having the stature of Microsoft, if it happens once, it can be excusable, when to one degree or the other, it has happened with all of their recent updates, then it is not.

And if Microsoft keeps going off the rails the way they have been recently, I just might have to start rolling my own again, not because I particular want, to. Just because of a growing lack of confidence in Microsofts ability to be competent, reliable and responsible producer.

If you don't recall Shellshock, or the Grub issue that gave backdoor access to your entire system (was active for 6 years!), or the Kernel 5.1 update that had a bug in the SSD TRIM function and caused data loss, then you're not much of a Linux fanboi! Or the Mac OS X bug that allowed you to login with 'root' and no password.... Those are all absolutely firmly in the 'inexcusable' bucket.

So those issues occurred more than once? The issue as explained numerous times isn't just a bug in the software but the whole way the windows update system works that allows these issues to continually occur. And I'm sure files directly deleted isn't the only way data loss has occurred.

Been updating Windows 10 PCs since 1503 was released, to date no issues in our company with 1500+ Windows 10 machines, but hey you are the expert on software so yeah your methods clearly aren't working and I along all of our users must be doing something right.

The is more to this story, users like you, want to tweak the OS and then when stuff goes pear, you all become Shaggy, wasn't me.

Considering we have graphic designers, artists, Web developers, ui/ux developers, DB develooers, analysts of all kinds, data scientists and qa to cater for all of that yeah we don't have any diversity in the machines we use, yeah they are all the same, they all have a keyboard and mouse multiple monitors and a tower/laptop with a docking station.

You're missing the point. Workstations are mostly ready to order. There isn't really much of the diversity you think there is. MS is known to work with vendors to ensure the OS and patches work with their machines so it's no surprise people like you in a work setting don't notice these issues all our plebs have to deal with. But hey, I suppose you also consider building your own custom machine or having real specialised equipment to be "tweaking".

Oh and, when's the last time you looked in the mirror bud?
