Why? Ignore the Henny Pennys and Chicken Littles, W11 is better than W10. Most problems wailed about are PEBCAK.

I'm cautious by nature and old-fashioned. Still wear khakhi shorts + socks and sandals.

My secure box runs Linux Mint. Main box (gaming/kakpraat) is Win10.

Yep still got ~ a year left... and then Extended Support.

I got nothing bad to say about MacOS. It's excellent for content creators/visual artists and those sort.
Only issue is the price. If it was lower I'd get a Mac tomorrow.

When I open Word and I click open then click browse the application freezes.

This happens to every app that has this function. Word/Excel/Adobe.

This happens to every app that has this function. Word/Excel/Adobe.

Check for any updates - Windows / MS Office / Adobe - and see if that resolves the problem.

For MS Office, open any app - I usually use Excel - click the File tab, then click on Account (You may have to click 'More...' to get to Account, depending on your screen resolution / zoom settings) - then click the Update Options icon - then Update Now.

If there are updates to be downloaded, once they start downloading, then close ALL your MS Office apps so that the updates can install successfully.

Nope, works my side.

I actually NEVER open files that way ... I go to where the file is save on PC/network and click on it to open with the program it's linked to.

yup - Win+E - navigate to folder, select & double-click on file (or select & press ENTER) always works for me...

Speaking of weird Win11 issues - anyone facing when they ctrl+c to copy in excel, it doesn't actually copy on the 1st go, have to like ctrl+c twice or 3 times then things copy...

Nope ... copies 1st time for me .... that said, it sounds more like a MS Office issue and NOT win11 issue

Malwarebytes advises it is fraudalent software

Malwarebytes should give you the option to quarantine & disinfect the malware to permanently remove it after doing a scan...

Its just a notification from a (Scam) website in Edge.

Edge -> Settings -> Site permissions.

Delete everything.
