Windows 11 Support Thread

Out of curiosity, is your installation of Windows "clean" (installed from 24H2 source) or has it been upgraded a few times? ([Win 10 ->] Win 11 22H1/2 -> 23H1/2 -> 24H1/2)

The only one that was impacted was a clean install. Windows did start, took quite long, and when it got to login, it gave a TPM error. Then, when I restarted, it didn't want to start Windows. Went through the standard troubleshooting process, and well, I had two options: reinstall or attempt a repair via an external source.

I don't do upgrades, only clean installs on production machines.

With KB5060829, Microsoft begins rolling out a PC-to-PC migration experience, which enables Windows users to transfer their files and settings from old computers to new ones during the setup process.

While support for this feature during PC setup is not yet available, it will be introduced with a future update as part of a phased rollout.

This should have been implemented ages ago, not in 2025.

IMO windows 11 is the best version of Windows so far. So glad I avoided Win 8 and Win 10.

Windows 7 -> 10 -> 11 for me.

11 feels like it has had the most issues especially with 24H2.

Windows seems to follow a pattern: Good (XP) -> Bad (Vista) -> Good (W7) -> Bad (W8) -> Good (W10) -> Bad (W11) so looking forward to moving on to the next Windows in a few years.

If you avoided them, how do u know it's the best version so far?
People just "know" these things.

My mate from high school must still be running Win XP.

Either he can't download anime and have switched to a newer version or might be waiting for Windows 12 on account of how bad 11 is.

I've not had many issues with Win 11, nothing more than 10 or 7, granted my install is soo hacked and chopped up it’s probably not much of a reflection of the normal Win 11 experience.

Dark mode = albino mode
Ok get ya now ... Yea I also hate not having dark on legacy apps/windows .... but apparently messing with that code could mess up other things further down the line and I don't want to go down that tunnel.

StartisBack / Rectify11 has options to make that dark if you into messing around. ;)

Another ±3GB update ....

They are now apparently bundling the AI models into every update despite the fact that the AI models aren’t applied to regular PCs. Way to go saving the tree's MS, imagine how much extra bandwidth/costs that means for the global population as 100's of millions of PC's download these needlessly bloated updates.

Installed/working fine on unsupported hardware.
