A bit heavy on resources...

Processor
• Minimum: 1GHz
• Recommended: 2GHz
• Optimal: 3GHz or faster
Note: An Intel Itanium 2 processor is required for Windows Server 2008 for Itanium-based Systems

Memory
• Minimum: 512MB RAM
• Recommended: 1GB RAM
• Optimal: 2GB RAM (Full installation) or 1GB RAM (Server Core installation) or more
• Maximum (32-bit systems): 4GB (Standard) or 64GB (Enterprise and Datacenter)
• Maximum (64-bit systems): 32GB (Standard) or 2TB (Enterprise, Datacenter, and Itanium-based systems)

Available Disk Space
• Minimum: 8GB
• Recommended: 40GB (Full installation) or 10GB (Server Core installation)
• Optimal: 80GB (Full installation) or 40GB (Server Core installation) or more
Note: Computers with more than 16GB of RAM will require more disk space for paging, hibernation, and dump files

DVD-ROM drive

Display and Peripherals
• Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher-resolution monitor
• Keyboard
• Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

And why hibernation support?

80gb! maybe i can use this as an excuse to get my p3 server upgraded...

hibernation might be useful in a powercut if you're running off UPS?

For a server, that drive space requirement is crazy....

Its going to mean re-tooling nearly ALL of my servers, even the brand new ones to take that into account.. *mutter*

those specs aren't hectic at all.... my laptop just about passes Optimal...

it may be heavy but has anyone seen what it is capable of?

Online Partition resizing.
hot swap CPU`s using virualization
80 mb /sec LAN transfer to vista using 100mb cat 5

not bad, i like the installation options, and now having the ability to restart active directory without rebooting
