Please can someone running Windows 7 try something for me?

It's a very annoying issue, and want to rule out it's not just me

What you need to do:

Use your router as a modem, and create your ISP account in windows 7 so it handles the connection instead.

Doing this for me creates time-outs when zone loading. The blue progress bar gets to 100%, then idles there for a minute until you're booted to the 'you have been disconnected screen'. It happens about 50% of the time.. any zone I try get into.

If I use my router to handle the adsl connection then everything works 100%. But I prefer to let my PC handle the connection, so other machines on my network don't eat my unshaped bandwidth.

Thanks!

B...e...t...a v..e..r..s..i..o..n.. forget it. Just talk to microsoft and ask them to get up and fix the problem. Or refer to the above ^

hmmm strange, im running 7 with it set up as modem and i got no problems at all. Maybe your isp ?

I am on build 7077 of win7 and Im using the exact same setup as you, and I have no problems.

And it never disconnects either

One thing I noticed is that Windows Mobile Device Centre does not start up.

same as Blaaislaai, no problems what so ever. In fact it's more stable than in any other OS.

Awesome, thanks guys - I'm using build 7000 so hopefully after upgrading it'll be sorted out.

And yeah, it's a great OS. Think I'll actually buy when it comes out ;)
