Windows 7 and my i7 CPU with MSConfig

A few weeks ago I was fiddeling around with MSConfig after reading this:

Get Windows 7 to detect your new multi-core processor

I shouldn't have fiddeled actually as there was nothing wrong. Make a few changes and then undid them.

So tonight I'm busy with some video editing software and wonder why its taking so long on my uber i7 - I see the CPU is running at 100%......and its only showing 1 CPU under task manager :sick: :(

I check the settings under advanced and see its ticked to only use 1 CPU at boot!! I thought my PC was a bit sluggish for the past few weeks. :o

I've untoicked it and rebooted and now back to 8 CPU's!!!! :D Things are much better now.

So if you've fiddeling with MSConfig before and your PC is slow I'd double check the setting

How people still fall for this myth lol. All cores are utilised by default, that setting is jus for debugging.
 
Still! He feels better, give him that at least!

Nice setup tho! Jealousy makes people nasty. Me included you braggart!
