My computer hangs often almost at the exact same time when it decides to hang by leaving my with a sound loop and i have to reset the computer cause everything just stops working.

I know other people on windows 7 that have no problems even though some have an earlier dated pc than i have, i know windows 7 have problems with punkbuster, but why is it that some dont and some do.

I have to reset 2 or 3 times and then all of a sudden it wont do it again for the rest of the day. so what is really causeing my pc to freeze up all the time when an application uses punkbuster

Windows 7 does not have issues since the RTM with punkbuster, if you are running an earlier version you should get the RTM

What version of windows 7 are you using? Is it the RTM/original with a key or RC?

Yea should be fine, have disabled your firewall and anti virus?

What i would do is reload your pc fresh without nothing but bf 2 or whatever other PB games you use, do not install anything but drivers and games and see. You have manually updated PB right?

ya, i reinstalled today, installed my game without it installing punk buster from the cd, did a manual install for punkbuster.

all my drivers are up to date: sound, lan, display. ect..

i have tried so many things, and nothing seems to work. only thing that works is the reset button, but i end up with the same problem again..lol

Why did you install the game without punkbuster?

Have you tried it with installing pb, not sure why you would not install PB though? then update manually i am sure if it the same thing but you can try it i guess.

the only error message i get in event viewer is this.

Update Windows license and product key tokens failed with 0xC004F050.
and

Installation of the Proof of Purchase failed. 0xC004F015
Partial Pkey=Y8QH3

ya,i just tried it this way to see what happens, i read on the net about trying to install punkbuster after the main installation. but even a normal installation did the same thing

I am assuming this is a "free" version of windows 7 right?

Sounds like a poor release :D, maybe update the loader or something.
