Windows 7 and syncing to WM6.1

I just formatted my phone and all my contacts are already on the PC in Windows Live Mail.

I've downloaded Windows Mobile Device Center, connected the phone and all is good up to this point.

The problem is when I try sync the contacts to my WM6.1 device, it keeps telling me Outlook not installed.

Is one able to sync from WLM to WM6.1?

WLM is not the same as Outlook. Sync only works with Outlook installed on PC.
Best way is to use a backup program on your phone like Resco or something similar. You can then do partial/selective restores of documents, contacts, messages, etc.

Ah thanks ...

I googled as well and found it didn't work :/ Incase others have this issue, I exported from WML to indivdual business card files, copied to my XP laptop and added individually to the address book (Outlook Express)

I used a 3rd party program (Syncdata) to sync Outlook Express with WM6.1. I guess I'll have to fork out for Outlook ...

Some HTC phones still has a 60day Outlook license - maybe scavenge for a CD and install it? Then use MS's Home Use Program to get Office for R173? PM if ya want more info!
