Windows 7 boot up : Does this work?

I see on some of the comments yes, other no, and even others point out it can be bad ...

I'm copying for a few hours, so can't reboot my PC - so wonder if this works?

Wow the boot up times must have gone out the window or something broke because yikes it's been more than 20 seconds .

Wow, it is super fast now! I put 4 processors and it now boots in a quarter of the time!

(or at least it felt like it....)

For me it did not make any big difference. May be it is because my pc is only dual core.

I got real excited when I saw this tip, went ahead and tried it. Feels like my boot time is more sluggish on 4 cores than it was with the option disabled. Tried it three times just to make sure before I reverted. Lucky me right?!

Hmm.. set mine to 6 cores... boots up in a flash.. but then again it booted up in a flash before, 'cos I got an SSD. So can't tell if it really works or not

or you could try optimize performance by disabling unnecessary services

It made absolutely no difference whatsoever with my i7 940 + 128GB SSD.
