Hi guys,

I urgently need help with this...

Okay!

SETUP:

My main PC is setup via Neotel.
I have my old ADSL router which is a Mega 105WR which I basically use as a wireless hub for my 'flat' which people connect too and watch movies etc.

Now the problem comes in;

I need to setup my Neotel connection on my PC to be shared so that people upstairs can connect wirelessly to my wireless router and via that, get internet access.

First off, I've reset the router, the only thing I've changed is the SSID.
I'm connected to the router.

What else do I have to do?

My IP (via router) is the 10.0.0.x range.
My Neotel is obviously 41.x.x.x range.

I'm very new to Windows 7 (Let alone VISTA!)

My Neotel network is setup as "Work" network.
My Wireless network is setup as "Home" network.

connection sharing is a pain, it always gave me hassles.

look up on the net for a free proxy server for windows, there are a few. And then your friends just get an IP, put the IP of the proxy (which is your pc) in their browsers and it works fine.

Depending on the setup and proxy features, you can also control who/how/what they do too.

Nah, don't wanna use proxy's.
Wanna just use sharing, let them go for it.

Ok!

Now I don't feel like an idiot because normally, by now there should've been alot of replies if people knew better.

7 is a biatch to setup no?!? ;)

No windows 7 sharing of internet is easy, sharing it your router and then broadcasting is the problem.

When you set the connection for sharing did you tell it wireless?

Not sure what you mean exactly.

I remember when I shared out my Neotel connection, and then I tried to do that to my wireless, it only allowed 1 share at a time.

I shared the Neotel connection because the Neotel connection is the "Internet" connection.

Internet Connection Sharing;

(TICKED)
Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection

Home networking connection:
"Local Area Connection"

(TICKED) Establish a dial-up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the internet

(NOT TICKED)
Allow other network users to control or disable the shared internet connection

Underneath allow other network users

You see home networking connection? There is a wireless option have you tried that?

Strange i get the option to change it wireless but then i have a wireless netwrk setup from this pc do you?

Ermm, a proxy gives you access control, ip control, usernames, time-based access, volume and bandwidth control and much more.

Internet connection sharing does not.

How you think its a better choice I dont know. But since you are on a mission to get the daylights abused out of your neotel connection.....

You need to turn off DHCP on your router/access point. Internet Connection sharing gives out IP addresses and will run its own DHCP server. It will also give them the right g/w and dns settings.

So the access point must only allow a connection. IPs will be dished-out by internet connection sharing on your PC. If you dont do this, you'll either have conflicts or, chances are, the access point DHCP will win speed-wise and issue its own settings first, which wont have the correct gateway entries and dns etc. etc.
