I am trying to Format and Reinstall my Laptop Sony VPCEB37FG but it seems when it was added to the Work Domain the previous IT guys Wiped my Hard Drive incl my Recovery Partition.. don't have any recovery discs either... :(

Tried downloading the WIN 7 ISO Image using the MS Website https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

but getting this Error
The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.

Also since it was joined to the domain the WIN 7 they loaded was Volume licensed and since can't authenticate anymore..

How can I convert my Product key to work or is contacting Sony SA the only way ?

Did you find the product key on the license sticker?
You can go directly to windows 10 without having to accept the updrade offer via windows update if your key qualifies.

Do not enter any key during installation. Insert OEM certificate and a key afterwards.

1. Get OEM certificate from here https://docs.google.com/open?id=0Bxj5NEo7I3z9dWx3VndfenZBWVE or google. Select the one matching your OEM SLIC in the BIOS and copy it to C:\

2. Get OEM SLP key for your Windows version. It could be any SLP key, even official Microsoft SLP key. A key has to match your installed Windows version though. Example: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0Bxj5NEo7I3z9djEzRVZyd1ljQ28

3. Run the following commands after opening cmd as an administrator
Code:
slmgr.vbs -ilc C:\YourOEMName.xrm-ms
slmgr.vbs -ipk xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxx-xxxxx
slmgr.vbs -dli
Replace YourOEMName with a real filename and xxx with a key.
Wait between commands for UAC-type window pop up.

Do the above or get an OEM ISO from torrent or where ever one can be had, just a vanilla copy with no mods done to it.
The download off the windows site is probably a retail version - that won't accept an OEM key.

If you can get a matching OEM install disc from any make of laptop it will take the key/install, so perhaps ask around or at work for what I'm assuming is Win 7 Pro, probably 64bit.

Downloaded copy from Microsoft Web site will accept OEM SLP key after inserting OEM certificate as described above. This is what OEM's do.

The first line in the code section inserts OEM certificate, the second installs OEM key and the third line request activation status.

What is a point for donwloading copy of Windows from the unknown source, when you can get official copy directly from Microsoft and apply internal Windows commands? Completely safe and legal.

Trying the Win 10 route but having no luck on a Corsair SSD

Recovery partition seems to be there but no way of accessing it.

Just delete them all and make one partition?

Still have some information on the HDD, Managed to Install Win 10 with the SSD..

Seems it didn't like booting to it externally.

Win 10 installed now busy with Setup...
