Windows 7 problems

I have a couple of problems:
I dial my adsl connections from windows:

1. I created a couple of shortcuts to my desktop. After a couple of hours they vanish. Then I have to create new one and after a while they vanish too. This seems to happen for no apparent reason..... :confused:

2. When I dial my connection sometimes it fails. Then I click redial. Then it fails again. When I click redial for the second time

"Connecting through WAN Miniport (ppoe)" Then suddenly my music starts to freeze like a cd with scratches. My RAM and CPU goes 100% and the pc is completely unresponsive. Now This happens about 2-3 times a day depending how many times I dial another account/connection.

I have 2.8GHz dualcore Intel and 4GB RAM so its very strange that it will go to 100% instantly.

3. GTA4 LAGs so bad its unplayable. It freezes like 5seconds ever 2-3seconds. Now that is very bad LAG.

None of these Problems happens with Windows Vista SP 2 so It MUST be something with windows 7. :(:(
I'm starting to dislike windows 7
 
I have learned that I'm not the only one with this problems.
 
So far, I've found relatively few problems.

(1) My computer can't recover from standby mode - I have to reboot. After rebooting, the computer takes forever to start up.
(2) My screensave lies partly on one of my two screens and mostly on the other.
(3) I was prompted on install as to what type of CD drive I had (1) or (2) with absolutely no explanation as to which was which, which was really weird.

Other than that I'm relatively happy. Don't see what all the hype was about though. From everything that was said, it seemed as though I was going to get a mind blowing, awe inspring revolution in computing.
 
is all your hardware on the microsoft whql list?
is you hardware compatable with Win7?
All your drivers Win7 version?

Have the big companies (Nvidia, ATI and the like) released drivers for Win7 already? I rate that Win7 experience won't be so good if they haven't.

cavedog, the lag in GTA is probably due to drivers, make sure you have Win7 drivers :)

The other problems seem VERY strange. Is it only your dial up connection icons that are getting deleted from the desktop, or other ones as well ?
 
I dial from pc on windows 7 perfectly. No problems

Yes nvidia have released drivers for win 7, have been out for ages.

The drivers for windows 7 and vista is the same. You will see this.

191.07_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql.exe

Anyways I think it might be some problem with the drivers but I can't seem to fix it. Ive tried everything.
I will just go back to Windows Vista. It worked so nice on my pc.
