Windows 7 released to computer makers

Isnt it ironic that today is the first day I have ever worked on Vista when my new computer arrived on my doorstep and then I read that Vista is being replaced. Ag well I look forward to November 2012 when I will try out Windows 7 for the first time too.

My windows 7 is slower than my vista for some reason. I am thinking that its to do with my hdd driver or the control thats not optimised or something

doob, must I dig up posts were you said vista manages cores perfectly and does need a patch? again?

Manages cores? What does that have to do with drivers though?

You said windows 7 has poor driver support but on what basis?

I can tell you that windows runs better on a quadcore than it does on a dual core, case in point e8400 @ 4.0ghz booted slow than a q6600 @ 2.4ghz, all i did was swop out the cpu's so i may have thought vista uses more than one core but still that nothing to do with your above comment.

lol , my point is that if your PC runs you are content and think it's like that for everyone, I've had driver issues with my tuner and printer, yes vista drivers work but not always, also my Xonar souncard is buggy with 7.

No obviously but with vista threads popped up all the time about driver support, windows 7 i have not heard very much rumbling about driver support.

Bet you it is not an hp :D, i have 3 printers all hp and a scanner and they run great, in fact on vista and xp the scanner took 15 minutes to install on windows 7 it downloads a small driver and installs within 2 minutes :D plus the interface is superior too that of hp's. I see your point though but i think the driver support is very good. Even my roland machine works which is awesome :).

win 7 is awesome... xp is just too old and cr@p...

now where did I put that BSOD... wait... there it is just after the install of daemon tools :p

but seriously... just a few tweaks and 7 runs great...

I have a question... Why does Microsoft now indicate that you have a problem with your network connection if you do not have internet access!? Not everyone has internet access 24/7! So don't put that stupid little yellow icon over my wireless signal bar!

+1

I'm on local but no international and also got a yellow icon.

If the machine can't connect home (www.microsoft.com) it probably thinks there's no network connection!
