yes it is. i downloaded it on tuesday and it was still free.

Well, since windows 7 is built on the vista kernel, all of the programs that worked in vista will run on windows 7( with exception of daemon tools which modifies system services among other things so it was never expected to work ). I guess the same goes for hardware, if your modem worked in vista chances are good it will in windows 7. If i had an isdn modem i would have tested for you.

btw, why dont you upgrade to adsl or wireless ? isdn is kinda old ....
 
The isdn is for bussiness (short encrypted) data streams (forex). All other data bundle streams are unsecure...kinda like card swipe paypoints

Well, dont you have an extra drive lying around that you can install windows 7 onto to test ?

I do know that my lexmark printer drivers for vista works in windows 7 as well. i installed my printer using vista drivers and it is working fine, might be same for isdn modem.
 
Been playing with Win 7 on my Dual Core HP 530 Laptop with 2GB RAM.

I can draw the following conclusions so far:
1. Win7 even in Beta Form is faster than Vista, about the same as XP. The final version is likely to be faster.
2. Driver and program compatibility seems ok, but I have found one or 2 programs that dont work (mainly OpenVPN, Daemon Tools, Camtasia Studio, Jing). Still much better than Vista when it was new.
3. Win7 beta still has some unstable components. These are mainly the new parts, the parts that it inherited from vista are rock solid.
4. I love the idea of "homegrouping", FINALLY home networking made easy enough for parents.
5. Battery life on my notebook improved by about 20%.
6. browsing shared folders or browsing PC's on a network is now "Instant", massive massive improvement.
7. The new task bar is Fantastic!!. amazingly flexible for us heavy multi-taskers.
 
I'll give it a bash over the next few days... just have to get a few blank DVD's
 
Does anyone want to try and get Route Sentry working on Windows 7? I know it was a hassle with Vista.. Route Sentry is one of the reasons Im still using XP

Thats because it's is a polished Vista SPx masked as a "beta". If it was a complete rewrite there would have been more bugs.

Routesentry works 100% on vista with the right modem.

Considering windows 7 is basically vista i doubt you will have any luck other the vista way.
 
Now i know why my windows 7 64 bit dont like daemon tools.I dont have a lot of issues but one stands out networking is a beech.I do have problems with vista dual booting with win7.
lots of drive errors if win7 is installed first then vista on second partition.I can forget about sound as cmedia has yet to release 64 bit drivers for 8738 chip.All in all its clean green and not so mean
 
Got my first BSOD today while testing Virtualbox, looks like I can scrap W7 as my main work OS... I'm forced to use Linux for that.
 
Okay I have winodws 7 installed, now just searching for drivers, 64 bit drivers for my sound card.
Toshiba does not provide any sound card drivers for 64 bit, while the sound works, the front audio does not which is not acceptable.

Sorry, but give me one reason why you turned it off. The irritating excuse won't work here mate. They improved it alot!

Another thing. Why would you want to test beta software and then turn features off they want you to test? Microsoft should put a ban on you for testing beta osftware of theirs! If you don't like features in a beta release you just have to deal with it. They want feedback from you on it and want to improve it, so you just screw yourself when you turn it off.

When the software is release you can turn it off if you want, but not in beta!
