Dont worry, I will definately buy when it is released - after trying to run Vista cracked ... neva again!!!! To much hassle, thats for sure!
 
Networking Isuues

Ok, i installed 64bit a few days ago, and as much as i started enjoying the look of it, i am somewhat becoming more suicidal by the hour. Here's the problem.

The pc is connected to a WLAN, the wlan is seperate from the internet, internet i pppoe.

The problem i have, is when the pppoe is not active, the status icon bottom right pops up that yellow warning triangle and says: No Internet Connection and thats when i can't ping things. Sometimes it seems it comes on and off and pings become erratic, one minute its working and the next destination nett unreachable. Everything then becomes stable once my pppoe is active. Here's my settings:

ANy one else experiencing the same problem. Btw, its not network related since my XP machine has no problems at all

Edit: I see under Network and SHaring centre it list my network as multiple networks. Also anyway to setup a network without internet.

If anyone requires screenshots ill be more than happy to take alot of them and upload
 
I had to tweak a couple of reg entries for my Mvix PVR to access my shared directories.... took me a while to find an answer online for that!!!
 
I pulled down the 32-bit version to try on my laptop - Vista to Win 7 upgrade. Everything works so far, except for Daemon, but I'll get around to fixing that. Win7 does seem more responsive than Vista so far.

On the desktop CD I didn't bother burning a DVD, just extracted the ISO and installed on to of the beta, running the setup from within Win7. All the old stuff was moved into Windows.old so I could cut/paste my docs into the new installation.

The homegroup stuff is broken because my laptop is joined to a domain. Will get to try it out tomorrow at the office to see if everything is okay.

Also downloaded myself Office 2007 Ultimate for good measure. :D
