Hey Guys!!

Is it possible to download Windows 7 starter for installation?

My cousin had her laptop re installed with windows, but the incorrect version was installed.
She has the product key for Windows 7 starter.
Is there any link that we could download it from?

Phone supplier for repair disk. A laptop bios is coded it will just install an activated repair copy to your machine. Hp sent me repair disks that needed no key pr activation. Just 2.5 gb worth of updates...

The Windows she would have had on is an OEM one meaning the cd key won't work with a retail copy.

Starter sucks so badly....go with House's advice and download the Windows 7 Professional x86 (32-bit) version.

A Windows 7 laptop does not have a code for Windows built in. It only has the SLIC 2.1 marker in the BIOS. That marker indicates that the BIOS is capable of offline OEM preactivation. You will need recovery disks that have the the correct OEM SLP key embedded in the disk or a regular retail/OEM DVD and a matching SLIC 2.1 digital certificate and a matching SLP key for the specific SKU of Windows 7 that you wish to install.

This means that a Windows 7 laptop can accept any version of Windows 7 as long as you have the certificate and key. Activation will then take place offline via SLMGR.
