Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - lots of stop errors

(don't have any devices left on W7 though, they all died. :p)

I'm curious, anyone have an SSD with W7 and W10, what are the boot up times? Near negligible difference I would assume?

Currently my BIOS is the longest part of booting on an SSD with Windows 10, about 3 seconds. 7200RPM HDD's on W10 it's about 10 seconds.
I'm including logging in, getting to the desktop. This laptop used to have a SSHD, 5400RPM, was about 25 seconds to boot.
 
I have a Lite-On 256GB SSD in my machine, Windows 10 is much faster to boot thanks to Quick Boot - something Windows 7 does not support.

Boot time is not that big of a problem anyways A) my win 7 pc stays on B) Also its boots after updates :)

I will update when the day comes. But for now my win 7 gaming pc is the most stable thing in the house

And when you reboot for the reason that something stops working, it starts updating Windows, which takes 2 hours or more.
 
Actually I make a point of switching off my i7 workstation at work *every* day. So the quick boots helps a lot in the mornings.

My home PC runs an AM1 quad Athlon and it stays up for weeks at a time. Quickboot is but one more improvement the rest of the world enjoys while Windows 7 stays behind.

With quick boot you are not shutting down Windoze 10, you are hibernating most of hidden processes like bitcoin mining.

If you disable quick boot, you don't need to shut down computer so frequent, as system is running more stable. However it takes out this elussive advantage over win7.
 
Kevvie, I presume your issue went away in the end?
 
Am I the only one not using quick boot? Even without quick boot it takes a couple of seconds to boot up. I don't like the fact that I don't have time to hit the F10 / F3 key during boot if necessary.
 
Once your in Windows you can tell it to restart to the BIOS. But honestly, if you need to go there then it is usually cause something is wrong with your computer.

Can't live without quick boot. If I see a BIOS screen I think 486 with a Tseng ET4000. Speaking of which, graphics cards, how old school is that?

Correct, and you have to boot Windows successfully to get to this menu. Otherwise you have to wait for couple reboots before Windows come out with the same idea. ;)

Hitting F7 during the boot was better option, sadly abandoned.
