Windows 7 Ultimate x64 - lots of stop errors

Windows 10 is the best OS known to man. Try coming up with one OS that is better and I'll show you a fool.

I don't like Windows 10. But purely for having the latest tech and stability/support, I chose it over Win7 which I love to bits. Sometimes it's just the smart thing to do.

I still don't like the layout and taking to it like a penquin to desert sand, but dam it's stable and runs beautifully.

had to reinstall 2 pc's now that got bricked by a update that rolled out.

Yea same still have a pc with win 7 on just had to go check its date installed 2011/05/25,



Still no format on that pc, starts up fine no blue screens nothing and everything works on it
 
Windows 7 is nearly 10 years old, in that time a lot changed in terms of computer hardware as well as the architecture of the operating systems running on top of it.

Let me give you a simple example, Quick Boot. Windows 7 is just too backwards and retarded to support this, where as Windows 10 improved upon this feature first introduced in Windows 8. This is but one feature, there are plenty more and do not forget about the magnitude of security features that are standard on Windows 10, but only came to Windows 7 via update patches.

I have upgraded many machine to Windows 10, even old simple single core S939 AMD Athlons - no problems at all. Many people will say they "bricked" (wrong term) their machines or Windows 10 was unstable. The problem here is not Windows but crappy hardware with dodgy drivers.

Face it, if you are not on the latest you might as well run 3.1 or 2000.

Had to do the same on my PC and some PC's at work because of the updates.

OS's has their pro's and con's and everyone's opinion will differ according to the experience they have had with it. I appreciate the feedback and opinions.
 
Running an outdated OS because a modern one encounters issues on your hardware points to the fact that you have hardware/driver issues.

Windows 7 capped out at UMDF 1.11 whereas with Windows 10 it goes up to 2.21. Looking at some of the improvements that came out in newer versions it makes sense to stay up to date not only on the OS side but also drivers.

It is so frustrating when you talk to people and they say they don't like the way Windows 10 "looks" so they stick with some out dated one. FFS, it's not about looks - it is about a complex piece of software providing an interface not only for you to the machine but also different devices inside the machine.

The problem we have these days is that there is so many people with some knowledge, but still too little knowledge, and that's dangerous. That is why people are coining it big time with ransomware.

On mine it was a laptop that came with win10 installed it updated and bricked the OS. I reinstalled win 7 on the thing and just updated win 7.

People with windows 10,8,7,xp every OS gets it

Note: last year Jan build a brand new pc from the ground up with I5 and RX480 installed win10.

Every was running smooth for months. Then all of the sudden update comes out and after that I get half of the fps in games and laggy destop. Reinstall drivers, nothing worked. I had to bloody reinstall the OS it peeved me off so hard

Everything works just fine - as soon as major updates run like the Creators a few weeks back, it all blows up.

When testing ram I use 'Micro scope diagnostic suite', picks things up when memtest passes the ram.

You seem to lack basic comprehension skills.

I said, because it works. And it does. EVERYTHING I use my PC for works 110% on Win7. I have never encountered anything that required me to have Win10. If that day comes, which I don't doubt, I will change. But for now EVERYTHING works. No need to move to a new OS that bricks machines.
 
Oh ho no, I lack many things in fact, basic comprehension skills being but one of them.

Look gramps, if you are happy with you CRT TV because it works for you, then good for you. Sometimes you need that long boot time to get nice and comfy in front of the computermatron. Resit change and it will go away.
