Hi recently installed windows 7 on my pc as my primary and onyl operating system , was working for about two hours, installing all my drivers and so on . The problem I think stems from the partitions I tried to create using the built in windows 7 software, and hour later I restarted my computer and got a lovely message saying "bootmgr not available" . I first tried to use my win 7 disk

and also got another error saying that there
were resources that wearnt available or something along those lines... I also tried to use the repair feature of the win 7 ISO but it said it could not automatically repair the problem .

Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated, thank you...

You can rebuild the bootmgr from the recovery console on your win7 disc. When you get to the recovery console you want to click on Command Prompt instead of letting it try to fix it automatically. Then type: bootrec /rebuildbcd and say Yes.

There might also be a boot manager repair option if you didn't use that at first?

I hope the Windows 7 recovery console works the same as Vista. :p

It does and its more user friendly to.

Surely you can have RC as your primary?

Should I try re-writing the ISO ?

If you think that there could have been an error during the writing of your ISO, you could try re-burning it. It would be much easier to try and reinstall your boot sector.

thanks but how would I go about doing this?

That's how you do it. Oh and I'm using Windows 7 RC1 as primary, works like a charm and haven't had problems besides Steganos Safe...

Okay got it to work, somehow, rebooted after about two hours and I could finally see an O.S to automatically repair from the Win 7 disk and it worked!..

I am using Win 7 RC1 as my main and had no probs! Love every thing about it :P
Glad you got it working
