Most MS-watchers believe the Windows 8 Consumer Preview will be launched at MWC on 29 February 2012.

This thread is for discussion of the Consumer Preview "beta".

Counting the days. I'm sure it will be stable enough to run on my main windows machine.

Well the developer preview was stable enough so I am sure this will be as well.

Can not wait for it either. I am not a fan of metro, so hope the registry hack is still in place to still get my old style start menu.

Well i'm oddly happy they removed the start menu button. It shows they are committed.

Its is strange to use at first you will get the hang of it over.Using Developer Preview Since September. If you have used windows phone the start screen tech is similar

quick question, with regards to compatibilty with drivers & games? does everything work?

It's not out yet, so we wouldn't know... I had very few problems with the developer preview, but I haven't tried much gaming on it.

Well if the Developer preview is anything to go by.

No

You still need to wait for all the drivers to come out like Nvidia...

Guess it's gonna be pretty strange to get the hang of it without the start button.

me also looking forward to get it... hopefully MS in SA will host a download site too.
Got a Dell Lattitude ST Windows 7 tablet I wanna try it out on... should be a better touch & tablet OS than Win7
The developers preview looked good, a little low on apps, no driver issues.... hopefully Win8 should cover all current Win7 stuff

in theory... if it comes out on 29th... we in ZA should be able to get it a few hours before the US hogs, about 10hours or so? :-)

Based on past experience, the download gate open is usually around 10am Pacific Time. But it might be different this time. I've specifically kept a coupla gig free for the download. Fingers crossed.

I'm suspecting the same. Will probably only get mine on 1st of March.

PC Is ready for install, I am going ape this time replacing the Windows 7 Partition as a native install. Been running Dev preview as a Virtual machine so I suspect this one to be very close to finish from the get go.

Do you think it will come with Metro office ?
