That didn't take too long.

Its barely been two weeks since Win8 release but Windows 8's Internet traffic already exceeds Android's.

Microsoft estimates Windows 8's Internet traffic to exceed iOS's in the next month.

My next PC is definately going to be a Win8 device, regardless.

Why did you post this in here? They are talking about the desktop OS. They've sold over 5 million copies in the last 8 days, it's not surprise there would be an upsurge in traffic.
 
One dude sitting in Israel on his 100Mbps Cable line with a Windows 8 desktop is gonna out-do a few million Android phone users with an average download capacity of 16-32GB in a matter of minutes (Full-on Scientific study done, I promise..)
 
What about the drop in Windows XP, Vista & 7 Internet traffic ? Due to the upgrades, to Windows 8.

Oh WOW, a desktop OS overtakes a mobile OS for browsing the web!!!!

Thats so amazing, its like people use Desktop's more than phone.

I would never have guessed that.

My current one is actually only good for a trade-in right now. I need a new PC. Besides, I want the new form factor.

Fudzy, I post it here because the devices that run Win8 are also mobile just as much as most that run Android. Winodws RT is really more for tablets than for desktops and hybrids for instance are direct competition to tablets than are desktops. Remember, when measuring Android web traffic they include mobile phones, tablets and... whats the name of those Android desktop/laptop devices again... oh, Chrome books.

Erm you talk about truth and go around spilling lies, how is that working for you?

Chromebook = Linux with chrome browser on top
Android = Linux with Dalvik on top

Thats said, most people still prefer browsing the web using PC's so in short this article means less than the bandwidth used to see it. Example: I have 2 Android Phones, an Android tablet and 3 iOS devices. Yet I browse mostly on my desktop(Running Windows 8), not because Windows 8 is better, but because reading pages on my PC when I am in front of it makes more sense than trying to do the same with my phone.

This section is for Windows Phones, not Microsoft desktop/notebooks. I suggest this gets moved to the Software section.

Alright. You then gone on and schooled me.

I wasn't trying to decieve anyone into believing that Chromebooks and Android devices are both running Android OS. I was seriously unaware that the OSes are actually different. Confusing. Thanks for explaining that to me.

Nevertheless, with the amount of time that Android tablets have been on the market one would think that their numbers would lead to a significant amount of Internet traffic. Further, with Android running on 75% of all smartphones, one wouldn't have expected Win8 released 12 days ago to exceed all of Android in Internet traffic.

Like the article said, so much for Post PC era. It really is a PC+ era.

For me this means that the form factor that Win8 is designed for really makes sense - hybrids and convertibles.

In future I will post operating system discussions under the software section.

I am just so used to posting here.

I installed Windows 8 on Monday. I have done more traffic than I have done on android (in 4 years) about 10 fold already in 3 days on Windows 8.
 
I still bet you that Android devices make more phone calls than Windows 8 PCs any day of the week.
