Windows Activation - Error Code 0x80070005

A problem is preventing Windows from accurately checking the licence for this computer. Error Code 0x80070005

This is the error I get. For some reason after I installed Windows on my gf's laptop and scan for viruses, AVG picks up a virus and heals it. Then the laptop shutdown and gives me the above error.

I have tried everything, but nothing works, not even REGCURE.

This guy has the same issue, and none of the solutions works.

This is the 4th format in 1 week.

Any help would be appreciated.

What file is it "curing"? and why do you keep getting viruses even after formatting :question:

I really don't know, could it be in my Service Pack 2 I have?

REGCURE found like 200 mistakes, cured it and it still persist.

I don't know what file it was, never looked...

Anyone ever had a similar issue?

Once. Copied my Licence file from a backup,said backup was corrupt,if the lic file doesn't pass a crc check,you're bust
