Windows explorer is closing down

Since yesterday while i tried to access some of my folders,i'm getting the following "windows explorer is experiencing problems & will close down",the screen will then go blank & the desktop will appear.Need some help please

only option to avoid the problem is to install opera or firefox

When this happens, try to get the details of the crash. I have a suspicion that it might be XviD.ac or similar that is causing the problem.

If it is, uninstall your codecs and install the K-Lite Codec Pack

Malware or dodgy Divx drivers [am I right beanie?] I had the same problem when I installed "all in one codecs packs"..but I was also running XP back then

You just copied my answer But I think we're on the right track...

I also hate these "All in one" codec packs, the only one that works properly is the K-Lite Codec Pack...

I install Xvid [from their website], and Divx 6.X, thats all I need.

Leave out Morgen Stream Switcher. It's a bitch and causes problems
