HERE is a blog from someone testing the Windows Home Server Beta 2. I like the backup aspects of this thing, at the moment i have to ghost each machine onto a harddrive in a removable rack every week...

I prefer to use SME Server from Contribs.org. Got everything you need for a proper server without the pain of an empty wallet.

What about antivirus on WHS? You do need antivirus, remember...

And does this SME thing have one big drive volume thing and does it make images of machines over the network?

I think it already lost me, there are no screenshots or anything about its capabilites and features on the homepage. Gets my thumbs down...

Ok i don't know much about this server stuff.

My understanding by reading thru the blog is that it just serve as a central point for your stuff (correct me if needed)
Now it seems that those network harddrives do the same.For me it looks like their features are the same.

Can somebody pls tell me the pro's and cons of running WHS and a NAS drive .
