Sup peeps,

So im running windows 10 which blows and I'm trying to reinstall windows 7 from a disc. Each time I boot I get an error saying that the boot device failed, I have tried both a USB and disc and this happens every time. I just need some advice on this I would really appreciate it.

Could be that board is set to UEFI instead of legacy

If yes use rufus to partition as gpt instead of mbr, else boot "bios" and change to legacy

I will try gpt thank you Sir. I'm no fundi hence why I'm asking for help. I have seen they say you must activate legacy but them a prompt warns that win 10 might not boot so I didn't want to take a chance as I don't know if this will worsen it.

Can I do this even with my month being expired? I had no prior issues so don't think it's a hardware problem, it's only since I upgraded to win 10 that i started having issues.

Oh, and @OP, thanks for this confidence inspiring thread, I am busy upgrading to win10 on this work laptop as I type this...

Windows 10 improves on 7 in so many ways don't understand why someone would want to go back. How can you even know that 7 is better, you don't even know how to install 7

Not knocking you but you sound like a novice who has evaluated a whole operating system and has decided that the much older version is better. If it's pure preference I would understand, but you specifically stated that Windows 10 as you put it "blows"

Windows 10 works fine for me, I'd recommend Start10 on top of it though, it is a lot faster/better at searching. Don't know why but the original windows 10 start menu takes forever to search.

Or use clssic shell and get Windows 7 looks with Windows 10 performance and security enhancements.

The only people I would advice against 10 is ISIS and friends :)
