Its not about crying/moaning/praising 8 its about the practical functionality as a desktop OS, it fails as such unless as I stated above you radically change the core. As a touch interface it will be great dare I say awesome.
The problem with loving or even hating something is that the more you love it the more you'll look past its "flaws" & focus on the positives & the same goes for hating where you'll only see the "flaws".
My feeling is that 8 was just a stop gap like ME & Vista its just a temporary OS to keep the investors happy for churning out another OS to get some $$$ but we all know that the "better" OS always skips a generation.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion as you will never be able to force your ideas on someone else, but in my case it's just not an OS that I like to work with, got 2 laptops in this morning to prep for clients & was relieved that they still shipped with 7 is just less of a mission.
